San Francisco Street Food Festival

The second annual San Francisco Street Food Festival! So glad that I was able to attend this. So many delicious places to eat at, and while I thought I could do it all! That was nearly impossible. First off, finding parking was not easy. The festival was on a Saturday, which meant parking meters were enforced, and there were a lot of 1 hour parking. Had to circle for about 15 minutes then finding a parking spot that was 5-10 minutes away, via walking. Second, cash only (not usually a problem for me). Third, LONG LINES! Got there around 11am, and lines were starting to form. At that point the lines were about 10 minutes. But as we walked around so more the lines were increasing exponentially, where it would be about 30 minutes. The longest line, and the last one we waited in was RoliRoti, about an hour wait, but oh so worth it. Fourth, lots of people...people upset me sometimes. Lastly, fifth, alcohol was confined to "drinking areas" so I was penned in with my drink. Not cool. I like to roam and eat. Overall, it was a great experience, and ate lots of good food, but Off the Grid is better. Less people, smaller lines (at least when I went) and yea...better. I hate how this street food/food carts is becoming so popular! So hard to get decent food off the street now!

broth was amazing, but the noodle/ramen was lacking. too soft, no bite. nothing spectacular. but broth was nomnom worthy

Melon w. Duck Prosciutto
over priced and nothing special

Chocolate Creme Brulee from Creme Brulee Cart
very strong chocolate taste, more dark chocolate than milk. It was good, but I really wanted to tried the vanilla which was sold out and it was only noon at that time. line was insanely long too.

The STAR of the Show!!
Porcetta Sandwich
Food Network TV: Best Thing I Ever Ate....Porcetta Sandwich from RoliRoti - that's what i would say if i was on that show. this was totally worth the wait. totally worth the hour wait, just watering at the mouth waiting for it. best part, when i was so close to the counter the owner gave me a piece to nibble while i waited longer. amazing.

the pork is tender, it's juicy, it's succulent, it's full of flavor. it just roasts non-stop on the cart, which its skin on the outside nice and crispy. each sandwich has meat, skin, arugula, carmelized onion, and all on top of a cibatta bread that's fresh. it's crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. as a side you get fingerling potatos, which sit at the bottom of the roasting pork, where the juices just drop on to it. sprinkle some sea salt - who needs french fries. seriously if you die tomorrow, you have to eat this. you have to. roliroti, find out where they are. usually it's the ferry building on Thursday. Other than that, i don't know. expect the line, expect the wait, and it's worth it.
it was good. but diddy reese in la is better. have to go try the real creamry first....
