Alembic @ San Francisco
The 7x7 list consists mostly of food items, but scattered around the 100 items are a few alcoholic drinks that must be tried. Alembic is on the list, and what must be tried is the Old Fashion. The bar is actually really cute, and has nice ambiance. The list of drinks are unique, and it's like a real old fashion bar where they make the classics, and the bartender isn't your typical "pay-$400-for-classes-and-i'm-a-bartender." He's the legit sh*it. I've never had an Old Fashion, and I don't even know what an Old Fashion is, but I ordered it, and tried it. BOY is it STRONG! Too strong for me, but still smooth. So while I've never had an Old Fashion, and have nothing to compare it to, my review is that it's good, but not a drink for me. I definitely will come back here to try another drink, probably something more fruity and less intense.

Rosamunde Sausage Grill @ San Francisco
AMAZING sausages at Rosamunde Sausage Grill and probably the most affordable thing on the 7x7 list. Got the beer sausage with grilled onions and sauerkrat. Great! The sausage is cooked immediately for you, takes about 10 minutes. Then it's placed in a sesame roll. So much flavor, and spicy! It had a real nice kick to it. But had to keep eating because it was so good. Definitely a repeater.

Cha Cha Cha @ San Francisco
Delicious tapas at Cha Cha Cha, I had no idea this entire time that I had great tapas just 10 minutes from where I live in SF, and I didn't even have to go to the other side of the city! The food was really good, and while it is tapas the portions certaintly weren't "tapas" portions. They were HUGE. We definitely ordered more than was needed.
The restaurant is small, and it seems that they place tables and chairs in every space imaginable, as to maximize the number of occupants, which is must needed. Even on a random Tuesday night the place was packed. I highly recommend to not sit near the door on a cold evening, as the door opens and closes it is not too fun...but rather chilly.
Warm Spinach Salad w. Bacon & Mushroom
this salad was AMAZING! it doesn't sound that good...warm spinach salad, but it was great. the dressing was perfect. i don't know what it was exactly, but it was creamy and savory. the piece of bacon wasn't "bacon bits" but actually pieces of bacon. i would go back to chachacha just for this salad.
Fried Calamari w. Lemon Aioli
yummy! can't go wrong with calamari, especially if you got the batter done right. best part? the tentacles...nom nom
Rice & Beans
ok...nothing spectacular
Black Mussels
[steamed in saffron broth w. garlic, onions and tomatoes]
these mussles were really good, nice meaty pieces of mussles and they were still in the shell. the broth was perfect to dip bread in.
Chicken Paillard
[grilled strips of chicken breast in a dijon cream sauce]
i have no idea what this tastes like. the waitress gave it to us by mistake, but i didn't know we didn't order it, so i took a picture. no one touched it, and the waitress took it back. it must have been good, because i looked around the restaurant and a bunch of other tables ordered it as well. next time!
Fried New Potatoes w. chile pasilla aioli
these were really tasty. crispy on the outside and warm and soft in the inside. the dipping sauce topped it off too. little bite size morsels, yum!
Grilled Marinated Chicken Wings w. guava-chipotle glaze
so fully of flavor! these wings were soooooo good....don't know what the sauce was exactly. there were a lot too! i think like 10+ wings in this little bowl?
Jamaican Jerk Chicken
spicy....but i don't really like jerked anything ever

Squat & Cobble @ Haight St.
Decided to try another place for crepes and something warm to drink. There are three places on Haight that are open past 9pm for good coffee and food. Decided to go to Squat & Gobble because it was the only one that was well lit, I'm blind and I like good lighting :) This place actually has better crepes than Crepevine on Irving, and looks WAY more appetizing. Chai tea late needs help, and the best chai tea is still from either Urth Cafe or Coral Tree Cafe in LA. Honestly, those are still the best places to grab a cub of coffee and dessert with a friend at night to just catch up. Where are they in SF?!?!
Chai Tea Late
not very tasty...kind of bland, needed something else
Added Cinnamon
I thought adding cinnamon to it would help, it did a smidge but not enough
Fruity Nutella
[bananas, strawberry, blueberries w/ nutella, and side of whipped cream and vanilla ice cream]
this was a really good crepe! It had the right amount of nutella, and the blueberries actually went well with it (initially i didn't like the idea). it would have been even better if they added more bananas, but i do like bananas in my desserts more than the average person. i love how they decorated the crepe too...very pretty..and scrumptious
