Toad in a Hole aka "Eggies in a Bakset"

This is probably one of Panda's favorite breakfast items. He first had it as "Toad in a Hole" at Barney's in Santa Monica. I recreated it one day, and it was just as amazing :) Then while we were watching V for Vendetta, they guy with the Guy Fawkes mask made it for Natalie Portman's character as "eggies in a bakset."

This breakfast item is really easy to make.
1 shot glass
1 slice of bread
1 egg
1/2 tbsp butter
salt and pepper

take the slice of bread and punch a hole out in the center with a shot glass. take the piece of bread out and either eat it or throw it away. heat up the pan, and place the butter on the pan and swirl it around. don't completely melt the butter all over the pan, and leave a small "glob" in the center. quickly add the sliced bread with a hole to the pan, and crack an egg over the hole. sprinkle some salt and pepper and let the egg set into the bread. when it looks as though the egg whites on the pan has set with the bread, take a spatula and flip the bread and egg over to the other side. let it cook some more. depending on how well you like your eggs, once the whites are sealed and the bread is toasty it's ready to serve, the yolk at this point will be over easy. if you like your eggs cooked through, leave it on the pan longer.

what you get in the end is a fried egg cooked into a buttery sliced of toast. if the yolk is over easy, you can pop the yolk and dip the toasted bread in it. serve with your favorite breakfast sausage, bacon, hashbrown, fruit or just by itself!

Finished product!

With the yolk popped out....yum!
