Zen Sushi @ Sacramento

Sacramento doesn't really have great sushi joints, and well my standards are pretty high right now, and it's difficult for anyone to meet them. However, Zen Sushi is not too bad for bento boxes, and reasonably price especially for lunch. Your choice of two item combo with rice, salad and fried wanton for $9.50. Not too shabby, especially when I was comparing prices with other eateries in midtown.

Benton Box: chicken katsu and tempura w. rice and salad
the chicken katsu was not bad, it wasn't oily or dry, however the shrimp tempura did have too much oil because i felt my slips were slick after one bite. it also had too much panko flakes and i had to scrape some off. the salad was good, but too much dressing, however the dressing was the right kind of miso dressing and not watered down. overall the meal was not too shabby :) will definitely try other places before i settle...i like to explore. thanks 'lil sib for treating me!
