Tuli Bistro @ Sacramento

Delightful at Tuli Bistro! Seriously! The squid ink pasta (seriously not as gross as it sounds) was amazing and full of flavor, and well the pizza was to die for! Dessert amazing! It's a really small restaurant where the "inside" is only counter seating so you can watch the chefs cooking, and the rest of the restaurant is in the "patio" which is fully covered and has heat lamps. It's nice and all, however in a cold winter, it's not really that warm. My one complaint is that I think this place needs more light. I understand it's all about ambiance and whatnot...but I'm there for food! Ha. I would definitely come back for pizza and then dessert.

Chitarra Nero
[Shrimp and Flounder tossed with Harissa, Bell Peppers,
Arugula and house-made Squid Ink Pasta]
Simply amazing! the black pasta looks disgusting right? yea it tastes nothing like ink, but tastes like everything they add to it which is lots of flavor. the pasta was really good because it was fresh, so it had that perfect al dente touch

The Smokey Goat
[Fire-roasted Tomato Sauce, Smoked Bacon, Goat Cheese, Jalapenos and Mozzarella]
jalopenos definitely burned but it was a perfect compliment to the cool and refresh goat cheese and mozzzarella. the crust was thin...really thin! cracker thin! so you could eat the whole thing up and don't feel like you're eat all carbs! nom nom nom

Pear Basket
[pastry molded into a basket, with cooked cinnamon pears, vanilla ice cream and sweet somethings]
i honestly don't remember what's in this besides the pear, ice cream and the caramel. but what i do remember is that this was simply one of the best desserts i've ever had. it was so delicate and i would have licked everything off the plate, if i didn't embarrass myself while in the process of doing so.

Peppermint Creme Brulee
it tasted exactly like how it sounded. not amazing, but not terrible. it was ok. wouldn't order it again, nothing special.
