American Fish @ Aria, Las Vegas

Fish galore! Where? Michael Mina's restaurant, American Fish. The food was really good, and I really loved my dish, my branzino. There were so many possibilities; what fish to eat? How should it be cooked: poached, grilled, sea salt, etc? The decisions! Where to go! Ahhhh!! Just close your eyes, point at the menu, eat that, sit back and enjoy!

Olive Oil & Butter
no one used this...because the bread was wonderful by it self! man i love carbs

Bread Basket: Grilled Foccacia & Blue Corn Muffin
we were so starved and this was simply delish

Grilled Focacia w. Butter
you know there is something really tasty about grilling bread, not toasting, but grilling. i really gotta try this at home

 Blue Corn Muffin
it sounded really funky, but it didn't taste funky at all. this was really good, really fragrant and sweet at the same time. did you know where blue corn meal comes from? it comes from regular corn which has been molded...it freaks most people out, but it's really tasty. yum!

 Cauliflower Gratin
taste like carbs, but there are no carbs! kinda tasted like mac and cheese too

  Brocolini

Branzino w. sea salt
so soft, so tasty, so buttery, so yummy! i've never had branzino, and i totally wasn't expecting it to be a whole fish. i really liked the skin, super crispy! they cut off the head, but if they left if off it wouldn't have been a big deal, because i'm use to seeing them attached to the fish anyways. hahaha

 Mixed Shellfish Poached
laura's dish! mixtures of lobster, shrimp, scallops and mussels. very good and very fresh

Bacon Wrapped Sturgeon
nicole and lily's dish. the waiter described it as meaty, and it definitely was. a lot more heartier than most fish dishes, but still very good.

overall i prefered my branzino :) and now i know what it is! however...i still love sushi more, don't cook the fish, just slice it and give me some soysauce and wasabi. hehehe. i think i may go get myself some sushi later today from my fav place in SF.
