Tony's Pizza Napoletana @ SF

**note**
Pictures of food with my new Nikon P300, which makes the food POP and look even more delicious! It has a very cool food setting too. Let me know what you think :)

Tony's Pizza Napolentana

I came here a few months ago, and since then I was craving it because I did not think I had enough the first time.  Also, I really wanted the sicilian because it just looked so damn good when I looked at the other tables.  They don't take reservations, and there is always a wait. Food is good, fresh, and solid.

Calamari
fresh and the batter is light. good way to start the meal because it starts the enzymes in your mouth for the rest of the carbs in the meal

 Margherite Pizza
the world famous pizza! there's only so many per day, and it is good. the tomato sauce is sweet and zesty. only complaint is that the crust does not stand on it's own, i.e. when you pick it up it droops down, which is something that does not happen with ny pizza. maybe it is the water over there that gives the dough more foundation

i don't remember what it was called, but it had prosciutto, goat cheese, romaine and balsamic vinegar. this dough was more thick than the margarite. my fav part was the goat cheese because it was so full of flavor and oh so creamy despite the balsamic

Spaghetti and Meatball
meh, nothing amazing and definitely would not come back for this dish

 Sicilian
my favorite! the crust was nice, thick and buttery. because of the deep dish pan, it's crusty too. every bite is orgasmic! the toppings are proportioned, and full of flavor. the pepperoni was spicy, and the salami was salty. this was even good the next night after heating it in the oven

Mama's @ San Francisco

There is ALWAYS a line. The line goes out the door to about half the block. It's been this way since I could remember. When I was kid, my aunt and uncle pulled me out of school one day so I could eat Mama's with them. It was great. After all these years, breakfast is just as good at mama's. While there are tons to things to eat at Mama's, eggs benedict is always good and safe choice. Lox was fresh and perfect, especially since there were no capers :)

apparently has really good baked goods too, but never tried. i was too full with what i had

Traditional Eggs Benedict
hollandaise sauce was great, and the eggs were cooked perfectly.

Lox
light and refreshing. salmon was fresh and not too smoked

Capp's Corner @ San Francisco

I really forgot how amazing Capp's Corner is in Northbeach. It's nothing fancy really, it doesn't boast itself (at least from the exterior) that it has authentic or great Italian food. Honestly, from the outside it looks like any other bar. It's not situated in the heart of Northbeach so people passing by don't just stroll in. People who eat here are either those of have been coming here for years, or because probably Beach Babylon Blanket has a deal with them. Either way, for less than $15 a plate, where you will have left overs beats Olive Garden any day! Oh yea, if you're real nice to the waiter he won't charge you things like soda, coffee, salad, soup and ice cream...what a deal! (dinner is not as great here, it's a must for lunch especially since they serve cream pesto)

Minestrone Soup
soup was ok...but i've never been a fan of minestrone soup. oh yea and this isn't the best of what's at this restaurant, and it was free...haha so yea. but yes it is on the menu and they do charge for it, just not us

Salad
[iceberg lettuce, beets, kidney beans, garbazo beans, topped w. thousand island type dressing]
salad really good. very light and refreshing.

Pesto Linguinin w. Mussels and Shrimp
ok while i may not have caputred the best picture, you have to believe me when i say that this was truly great, and a piece of art. you can't tell by the picture, because of the lighting, but the green on the pesto sauce is vibrant and popping. the pesto is full of flavor, and creamy. pasta cooked perfectly, and the mussles and shrimp were super freesh. they only offer this for lunch people! if you order it, it must be for lunch, not dinner! something about a different chef at night. so strange.

Steamed Clams w. Garlic Cheesy Bread
oh wow. clams were so fresh and so plump. they were cooked in a nice wine reduction broth with garlic. i could have just drank the broth by itself, but me being the light weight that i am, i probably would have gotten a little tipsy. i love love love the garlic bread too, but who doesn't? so this entire dish for less than $10, great huh?

Linguria Bakery @ Northbeach

ok....this is definitely not a hyperbole, but this is by far THE BESTEST MOST BESTEST AMAZING focaccia bread EVER! I have coming to this place since....well I think i could eat solid food, and it is still just as amazing as i remmeber. The only two differences is that prices have gone up (as with most things) and more people have discovered this place. The focaccia bread sells out by noon, sometimes earlier. It's right across from Mama's near Washington Square park. My favorite is the pizza bread...i can eat it non-stop, but my dad did decide to get the onion one too....pizza still the BEST! And my pizza i mean it's tomato sauce and chives, that's it...no cheese...but it doesn't need it...yum

Two slices of pizza bread and one onion bread (I ate 6-8 slices...couldn't stop)
